‘I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart’
Psalm 138:1
A friend to whom I showed this picture asked, “is it a sunset or a sunrise”? Pondering this, I ask myself – does it matter? Other than the need for geographical accuracy, this picture can speak to us, depending on our mood, giving a bold awakening to a new day, or giving warmth and comfort at the day’s end.
Jesus met the disciples as teacher, healer, friend, brother, Lord, Messiah. He was received in different ways according to need. The disciples and people of the time, found their perceptions changing, as do ours. Yet, Jesus does not change, one with the Father and the Spirit, the God of love.
St Paul captured the wonder and mystery of the immensity of God in Christ Jesus when he wrote,
“… but Christ is all, and is in all…” Colossians 3:11.
