As the death toll in Turkey and Syria rises, and as the scale of the tragedy becomes clearer, so we continue hold all those affected in our prayers.
On Sunday at St Anne’s there will be prayer and also an opportunity to donate to the Disaster Emergency Committee who are co-ordinating the relief work in these countries.
God of love, we pray for the people of Turkey and Syria whose lives have been devastated by the earthquake.
We remember before you in prayer
those who have died,
those who are dying,
those who have lost loved ones,
those whose homes and families have been destroyed.
Lord, in your great mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray for those who work to rescue the trapped and bring healing to the injured.
We pray for those who seek to provide aid and shelter and food in the face of many difficulties.
Lord, in your great mercy, hear our prayer.
God of all compassion, comfort your people and may your light and hope shine in these, the darkest of places.
