It was wonderful to see so many of you in church on 27 June when I celebrated 50 years as a priest. It was a joy to be able to lead the service and preach and so sincere thanks to Julia and the Vestry for making that possible. I was taken aback by the collection of greetings and comments that Julia had been able to collect and both Lesley and I were both surprised and delighted to receive the lovely shrub rose and flowers! As you can see, we have now planted the rose. It’s in a part of the garden which we have just started to develop where it will be a focal point on the terrace above the house.
